Nickname: Seany or Seano
Favourite Food: Sushi
Sporting Idol/s: Zeb Walsh, Mick Fanning, Matt Bevilaqua and Lachie Landsdown
When did you first start in your sport / profession:
I started surfing when I was 8 and from there I joined the Bancoora SLS Club and then joined Torquay SLS Club a couple of years after that. I started prone paddle boarding when I was 14 as one of my coaches was Zeb Walsh. Endurance paddle boarding is now my main sport.
Career highlights: Competing at the Australian Surf Life Saving titles on the Gold Coast in the 2016/17 season, winning medals at both QLD and VIC State Endurance Championships, winning Fishos Paddle Series 5km title, coming second at the Impossible Paddle Race (20km race), making State finals in the Victorian Surf Life Saving Championships.
What do you love most about your sport? I love meeting new people and being out in the middle of the ocean by myself paddling from one location to another. I also enjoy the challenge of competing against quality athletes in endurance style events.
Favourite event: Any long-distance prone paddleboard race.
Favourite location to compete/surf: I love competing on the Surf Coast in Victoria and in Queensland.
Future goals: I hope to compete in the Molokai to Oahu World Paddleboard Championships, compete in the Catalina Classic Paddleboard race, win both in the same year like Zeb Walsh and compete in the Coolangatta Gold short and long course events.
Hobbies: Surfing, skating, photography/ filmmaking, football (AFL).
What do you love most about the barnacle plus?
Being able to listen to music when I’m in the water and not worrying about losing it because it can float and sticks very well to my board.
